Peter Ney- Director

Buffalo-bred director Peter Ney’s love affair with film began when the inimitable Robert Redford came to town to film The Natural. Witnessing the fanfare and contagious excitement of the production, Ney was hooked. After attending the State University of New York at Fredonia, he packed his bags and made the trek west to the land of the stars. Once in Hollywood, Ney cut his teeth behind the scenes on television’s Solid Gold and The Tonight Show.

Always eager to hone his skills, Ney quickly climbed the ranks to become a Director of Photography. Shooting for various shows, including the acclaimed series Hard Copy, afforded him the opportunity to work on the prestigious Paramount Studios lot for over a decade. Those years of proximity to so many exciting productions fueled Ney’s hunger to branch out into film, while providing him with a thorough crash course in both the film and television industries.

Peter’s strengths lie in working with actors and celebrities, ensuring they feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera. His extensive experience behind the camera has also given him an edge, particularly when dealing with time-sensitive productions and tight deadlines while maintaining the highest quality.

Peter is married, with three college-aged children, and currently resides in Austin, Texas.

Since expanding his repertoire to directing, Peter Ney has driven many network and cable shows to success. He quickly became one of the top non-scripted directors in Hollywood, earning a nomination for a DGA award in 2013. His impressive credits include Face Off, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tabatha’s Salon Takeover, Food Network Star, The Pickup Artist, Roseanne’s Nuts, Last Comic Standing, Paris Hilton’s My New BFF, HGTV Design Star, and many others.
